Sheet Masks Are Mostly a Nice Ritual
The glow is real for a day. The lasting benefit is thinner.
Sheet masks feel like an intensive treatment. Mostly, they're a pleasant, well-marketed moment.
Why skin looks great right after
The sheet traps water against your skin, so it plumps and looks dewy for a few hours. That's real — but it's temporary hydration, not a deep transformation. By tomorrow, most of it is gone.
The serum problem
The "actives" in the drenched serum are usually at low concentrations, and much of it stays on the sheet or evaporates. A good moisturizer applied to damp skin often does more, for a fraction of the cost and packaging.
The move
Enjoy sheet masks as a relaxing ritual before an event — that's a legitimate reason. Just don't expect them to replace consistent basics: cleanser, a proven active, moisturizer, sunscreen. Those do the actual work.
